IUFRO Wind and Tree International Conference 2014

John Moore, a Research Leader in Forest Systems, attended the International Union of Forest Research Organisation’s Wind and Trees international Conference  São Paulo, Brazil  from 3-8 August. John  presented a keynote address on the impacts of wind in intensively managed plantations. He also presented a paper on the impacts of thinning on the risk of damage. Read more.

Visiting Fibria and CMPC

John and other IUFRO conference delegates had the opportunity to visit one of  Fibria’s forestry sites. Fibria. Fibria is a Brazilian company and is the largest producer of eucalypt pulp worldwide

John also took the opportunity to visit CMPC (Compañía Manufactura de Papeles y Cartones) in Chile while he was in South America. Read more.
